Meet Alex.

Senior Marketing Coordinator

A little
bit about Alex.

After my degree in animal science, I worked at Waltham Petcare Science Institute, where part of my role involved giving tours of the facility. When the pandemic hit, I had to innovate, and began supporting the Mars Global Corporate Affairs team for Petcare with social media and more. Eventually, I became site event coordinator and then digital content creator, adding to my portfolio of skills along the way. I came to Ketchup and the rest, as they say, is history.

I’m a big believer in the idea that, in marketing, everything should be done with purpose. That means getting back to a business’ objectives to understand what they’re really trying to achieve. It means getting stuck into a brief and sticking to a proper plan. If you do things randomly and keep changing tactics – good luck. For me, great results happen when everyone is pulling in the same direction, and executing a well-laid plan based on discovery, testing, and research.

I really do pride myself on being on top of everything. Plans, project management, delivery of said plans… It’s all about the organisation. I believe that, in marketing, every problem has a solution if you’re willing to find it. It’s about thinking outside the box, and funnelling all of your efforts towards your client’s overarching business goals. Once you understand that, you can do great things.

Away from Ketchup HQ, I’m probably planning my next dog agility competition. Or I’m training for, doing a bit more planning, or training for (surprise) my next dog agility competition! I do also enjoy a spot of gardening, usually whilst listening to a documentary or podcast.

Alex’s favourite thing about Ketchup.

“The best thing about Ketchup is the wide variety of clients, and the range of things they want from Ketchup. That means I get to learn and put into practice huge amounts of activities, from planning a trade show one minute, to organising ads for the radio the next, to supporting a brand launch after that. It’s always interesting, which is what we all want, really. ”
