A little bit about Lloyd.
I began my career over ten years ago as a graphic designer. Over time, I realised that design was just one element of a bigger picture. I wanted more. I wanted to have a view on how everything works and fits together – to me, that’s the most interesting thing about marketing.
I decided to become a general marketing exec, and that’s where my more rounded marketing skills began to take shape. Brand, copy, building relationships – it all went into my development as a ‘generalist’ marketer.
As a senior marketing exec, I began to take on managerial aspects in my role, and to contribute much more to strategy. I went down the B2B route, and helped a friend set up an agency. It was a little chaotic, but it opened my eyes to sales and pipelines; it was a real education, and it taught me how to sell myself as the product.
After returning to in-house work, I ran a marketing team and built my experience. I’ve run my own consultancy, which added another layer to my strategic education. And I have a ‘mini MBA’ in brand management. I am fascinated by brand, and how it encompasses everything about how an organisation presents itself.
Communication is one of my key strengths. I love meeting with people, talking to them, and opening up the lines of dialogue. I’ve got a lot of time for my clients and colleagues, and I put a lot of emphasis on listening and learning.
At the end of the day, that’s what marketing is all about: communicating the right message, to the right audience. I’m really glad to have landed at Ketchup, and that I get the opportunity to work with the incredible clients we support here.
When I’m not marketing, I enjoy cooking, music, and films. In practice, what that means is I’m either at a BBQ, at a festival, or on the sofa watching TV.
Lloyd’s favourite thing about Ketchup.
“I love the unique approach to marketing we have here. Ketchup is all about looking at everything, not just just things traditionally associated with an agency. It’s really special and something I’m proud to be a part of.”
