A little bit about Kitty.
I’ve been at Ketchup for six years. I’m passionate about fine art and graphic communication, and I’ve also dabbled in a little bit of photography. As a multidisciplinary designer, I can turn my hand to just about anything, but I really enjoy working on branding, campaign work, and web design.
Having spent my whole professional career at Ketchup, I’ve worked on – quite literally – hundreds of projects. A few really stand out, though. One thing I’m super proud of is the work I did on Cherubs. We all love those dream clients, and they’ve been amazing since day one. Working on Clintons Cards felt pretty legendary as it’s a real household name, while doing a Christmas campaign for Belvoir Castle (an actual, literal castle) was pretty f*cking cool.
If I was going to share one key bit of wisdom, it would be to always design for the audience, not necessarily the client. It can be easy to forget you’re speaking to real people, and most users just want something clear, useful and simple to engage with. One thing I feel I’m pretty damn good at, though, is storytelling across branding, campaigns, websites and UX. I love selling that vision, and getting the client onboard with a particular design route.
When I’m not creating, I’ve usually got my nose in a rom-com novel, or I’m off exploring cute little towns and coffee shops (and treating myself to something sweet!). My pup, Tilly, keeps me busy, and my countryside upbringing has given me a love of all things rural.
Kitty’s favourite thing about Ketchup.
“I love the variety of projects and sectors we get to work on here; no two campaigns are ever alike! I’ve also been able to stretch my skills while working here, for example learning the basics of coding, which has helped me with web design and allowed me to teach other people. Six years at Ketchup has flown by.”
